Crispy Kraft Crackers
Homemade whole grain squares with coarse sea salt are the perfect companion to dips and cheese plates.
Brief description
Authentic homemade crackers with a rich nutty flavor and crunchy texture. Perfect as a stand-alone snack or paired with cheeses and dips.
Ingredients (for 30-35 pieces)

200 g whole grain flour

100 g premium wheat flour

1 tsp sea salt (+ a little for sprinkling)

½ tsp soda

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

120 ml water (you may need a little more or less)

1 tbsp flax seeds or sunflower seeds (optional for crunch)
Step by step instructions

Preparing the dough.

In a large bowl, combine both flours, salt and baking soda.

Add olive oil and gradually pour in water, kneading the dough until smooth.

If using seeds, stir them into the dough.

Rolling out.

Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to make it more pliable.

Roll out the dough as thin as possible (2–3 mm) on a lightly floured surface.

Forming and sprinkling.

Using a knife or cookie cutters, cut the dough into squares or rectangles.

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle each cracker lightly with coarse sea salt.

Bakery.

Preheat oven to 180°C (convention +20°C).

Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

Let cool completely on a wire rack – the crackers will become even crispier.

Tips and variations

Flavor: Add dried herbs (rosemary, thyme), grated Parmesan or garlic powder to the dough.

Variety of cereals: replace some of the flour with rye or oat flour - it will give you a richer taste.

Storage: Crackers will stay crispy in an airtight container for up to a week.
